2002 Cyber Workshops






Guidelines for Submission of Research Proposals

Research Proposals corresponding to the workshop topics listed below are currently invited for the Takeda Techno-Entrepreneurship Award 2003. There are no restrictions on applicants' nationality, age, or organizational affiliation. Any research proposal that demonstrates technical creativity and entrepreneurship (i.e., techno-entrepreneurship) and the near-term potential to create value for people is welcomed.

Session A : Science and Technology supporting Information Barrier-free
Session B : A challenge from gene regulation and proteomics research to future medicine.
Session C : Development of the Global Earth Environmental model interacting with ecology and socio-economics



Time period for submission of applications


May 1 - 30, 2003



Criteria for applicants

Any researcher/engineer, who is actively engaged in the challenge to create new products and technologies, either individually or as part of a group, may apply for the award, provided they meet the conditions below. Please note that researchers/engineers who already have funding from other sources are welcome to apply.

Applicants should:
Be engaged in research that can be shown to contribute to human well-being, correspond to one of this year's workshop topics, and have clearly defined objectives;
Have a clearly defined purpose for their research;
Be available to participate in the Cyber Workshop. (Please click here for further details.)
Be able to manage any intellectual property rights associated with their research proposal or arising from their involvement in the competition.



Application Procedure (Applications are accepted only via the Internet Application Form.)

Please submit your research proposal as a poster.
Your poster is a means of drawing attention to your research proposal. Posters will be displayed online on the Cyber Workshop site. Please use your own judgment in deciding how much detail from your research proposal to include in your poster. (Please see the Takeda Foundation notice regarding intellectual property, below.)

Notice regarding Intellectual Property
Applicants are required to manage their own intellectual property rights with regard to information contained in posters, online responses and discussions, and reference materials posted on the Cyber Workshop site. Patent applications, if appropriate, should be filed before publication on the workshop site.

All posters, applicant comments and responses, reference materials, etc., will be stored electronically on the Takeda Foundation's system. This information may be displayed on the Takeda Foundation's website or in other materials published by the Takeda Foundation.
